Farewell Dio

16 May

Ronnie James Dio lent his sonorous pipes to classics like Stargazer, Heaven and Hell, and Rainbow  in the Dark.  And this morning he died, following a six month battle with stomach cancer.  I was lucky enough to see him open for Iron Maiden and Motorhead in 2003.  He put on a hell of a show, especially given that he was 61 years old at the time.

Between the velvet lies
There’s a truth that’s hard as steel
The vision never dies
Life’s a never ending wheel

RIP
